ABOUT CAPTAIN SPENSER
Captain Spenser is the owner and operator of Big Bite Adventures and a dedicated professional fishing guide with a lifelong passion for the water. He began his guiding career on Lake of the Woods while earning his degree at Bemidji State University, where he guided full time throughout his four years at BSU. That early experience laid the foundation for his strong work ethic, deep understanding of fish behavior, and commitment to putting clients on fish.
After graduating, Captain Spenser relocated to Door County, Wisconsin, drawn by the exceptional fishing opportunities and extended fishing seasons offered by the waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan. Today, he guides across both bodies of water, using his local knowledge to adapt to changing conditions and seasonal patterns. He resides in Egg Harbor with his wife, Elly, and their daughter, Rosie, and is proud to call Door County home.
Captain Spenser is a passionate and energetic guide who specializes in targeting a wide variety of species. His fishing background spans both freshwater and saltwater environments, with experience pursuing bass, trout, salmon, walleye, muskies, tarpon, tuna, and more. This diverse experience allows him to tailor each trip to the angler’s skill level and goals, whether they are new to fishing or seasoned veterans.
As a fully licensed U.S. Coast Guard Captain and fully insured guide, Captain Spenser places the highest priority on safety, professionalism, and customer experience. He is constantly refining techniques, investing in top-quality equipment, and seeking out less-pressured waters to provide productive and memorable trips. Whether guests are looking for an action-packed adventure or a relaxed day on the water, Captain Spenser is committed to delivering an outstanding fishing experience and helping create lasting memories in Door County.
