Seasons
At Big Bite Adventures, our fishing locations change with the seasons to ensure every trip offers the best possible fishing experience. Throughout the year, fish in Door County move based on water temperature, weather patterns, and feeding behavior, and our guides follow those movements closely. We primarily fish the waters of Lake Michigan and Green Bay, adjusting launch locations as conditions change. Depending on the time of year and target species, trips may depart from Sturgeon Bay, Egg Harbor, Baileys Harbor, Sister Bay, or Washington Island, Wisconsin. During spring, we focus on areas where fish concentrate as waters warm, while summer trips take advantage of stable conditions and peak feeding activity throughout Door County during the busy vacation season. As fall arrives and temperatures cool, we target migrating and aggressively feeding fish, offering some of the most exciting fishing of the year. By selecting the best location for your trip date, Big Bite Adventures ensures you are always fishing the right water at the right time.
SPRING
We spend March through May in the beautiful bays of Green Bay and Door County, targeting walleye, smallmouth bass, brown trout, and steelhead. This is the prime season for pre-spawn fish, making it an ideal time for anglers looking to experience big bites. Our fishing trips, based out of Sturgeon Bay and Egg Harbor, Oconto, Wisconsin, fill up VERY quickly, so be sure to book sooner rather than later to secure your spot! Experience the thrill of fishing in one of the best locations in the Midwest!

SUMMER
During the summer months (June through August), we enjoy salmon fishing out of Bailey's Harbor and Sturgeon Bay on the Lake Michigan side. Our trips focus on catching Chinook salmon and steelhead trout, renowned for their size and fighting spirit. In addition, we target walleye and smallmouth bass during these excursions, which are based on the Bay of Green Bay, launching from Sturgeon Bay, Sister Bay and Egg Harbor, Wisconsin. This diverse fishing experience allows us to explore the beautiful waters while enjoying the thrill of catching various species, particularly the exciting action of salmon fishing.

FALL

Fall is a vibrant time in Door County, Wisconsin, perfect for fishing enthusiasts. October and November are my favorite months for targeting smallmouth bass, walleye, and brown trout as they become particularly hungry. Fishing in the stunning Door County landscape, on both the Lake Michigan side and the Bay of Green Bay, offers an unforgettable experience. The combination of exceptional fall fishing and breathtaking autumn colors creates a perfect backdrop for outdoor adventures. Whether you're an experienced angler or a beginner, come experience the thrill of great catches amid the beauty of fall in Door County!
*** We DO NOT and WILL NOT use live bait/live minnows EVER during fall months, like most of the other guides in our area do. We prefer to teach you techniques that will help you become a better angler***

WINTER
Spenser spends the winter months, from January through March, in beautiful Southwest Florida, targeting both inshore and offshore fish. We cherish this season as a refreshing break from the harsh Midwest winter. The thrill of fishing in warm waters and the vibrant local ecosystem make this getaway truly special. Looking forward to sharing our adventures and seeing everyone in the spring in Door County!
