We’re currently in the prime of our salmon and trout season. From now through the end of August, we’re running daily Lake Michigan fishing trips targeting Chinook salmon, steelhead (rainbow trout), and brown trout. This is hands down the best time of year to fish Door County’s deep, cold waters—and this summer’s bite has been nothing short of incredible.

Our charter boats have been finding active fish in water as shallow as 60 to 100 feet, which is ideal for consistent hook-ups and fast action. Most trips are seeing limits of king salmon and steelhead, and we’ve even brought a few solid brown trout over the rail this week. If you’re serious about fishing or just want to try something new on your Door County vacation, this is an experience you won’t forget.
We’ve temporarily moved all our operations from the Green Bay side over to Lake Michigan because the fishing has been so good. While smallmouth bass and walleye fishing has slowed due to the alewife spawn in the bays, Lake Michigan is delivering daily limits of trout and salmon.
